I love potatoes in all forms — mashed, fried, or baked — and I also love to switch things up and use sweet potatoes instead.

Recipes like baked sweet potato in the air fryer, sweet potato black bean tacos, and air fryer sweet potato fries make an appearance in my house almost weekly.

And while I love sweet potato fries, I’ve been in the mood for cubes!

You can serve them as a side dish at dinner, but I also love the idea of eating them for breakfast. It’s like the sweet potato version of home fries, and I am here for it!

How Long To Cook Sweet Potatoes In The Air Fryer

Sweet potatoes are notorious for taking a very long time to roast in the oven. You may be wondering how long to cook sweet potatoes in the air fryer.

You won’t have to worry about long cooking times when you use your air fryer!

Air fried sweet potato cubes typically take between 8-10 minutes to become crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

How To Make Air Fryer Sweet Potato Cubes From Frozen

Frozen cubed sweet potatoes are great to use for so many reasons. You don’t have to worry about them going bad, and you also don’t need to peel or cube them yourself!

If you’d like to make air fryer sweet potato cubes from frozen, simply follow the instructions as indicated on the recipe card below, but increase the cooking time to 14 minutes.

Should I Soak My Sweet Potatoes Before Air Frying?

You aren’t required to soak your sweet potato cubes before air frying. That said, some chefs swear by this method in order to get really crispy results.

I find that my air fried sweet potato cubes come out perfectly crispy without soaking, but feel free to try it out both ways if you’d like!

Why Are My Sweet Potatoes Not Crispy In The Air Fryer?

If you end up with soggy results, it’s likely because you didn’t dry the sweet potato cubes well enough before coating them in the seasonings.

Excess moisture can cause them to steam instead of air fry. After washing, peeling, and cubing, make sure to dry them thoroughly!
