STEP ONE: Give your potatoes a quick scrub or soak them in water for up to 30 minutes, then rinse.

Dry the potatoes thoroughly with a paper towel or clean dish towel — this ensures that the oil and seasonings stick to the surface.

STEP TWO: Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees F. Meanwhile, slice each potato in half lengthwise.

Add to a large bowl with oil, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt. Toss until evenly coated. You can also use a ziptop storage bag instead of a bowl to make cleanup easier!

If you don’t have access to Italian seasoning, you can use an Italian Seasoning substitute here.

STEP THREE: Add seasoned fingerling potatoes to air fryer basket and cook under tender and crisp, about 15-18 minutes. Be sure to shake the basket halfway so they cook evenly on all sides.

Why Do My Potatoes Not Get Crispy In The Air Fryer?

Sometimes your potatoes may stick together in the air fryer, keeping them from crisping up as much as you may like.

Ensure that your air fryer fingerling potatoes get nice and crispy by washing them or soaking them in water for several minutes.

This will remove the starch on the outside of the potatoes and keep them from sticking together!

Just be sure to dry your potatoes before tossing with oil and seasonings.

How To Reheat Fingerling Potatoes In Air Fryer?

Reheat fingerling potatoes in the air fryer to prevent them from getting soggy and help them crisp up all over again.

For great results, you really only need to cook them until they are warmed through — between 3-5 minutes, depending on the size of each potato, at 350 degrees F.

What Is The Best Oil To Use In An Air Fryer?

You can use just about any oil in an air fryer, but certain oils are better than others — and certain ones can only be used at lower temperatures!

Check out the tips in this post to learn which varieties I recommend, depending on what you may be cooking.

Since this fingerling potatoes air fryer recipe cooks at 400 degrees F, you can use any oil with a high smoke point.

I prefer olive oil because it adds a nice flavor, but vegetable, avocado, or peanut oils are good alternatives.

What Dip Goes With Air Fryer Fingerling Potatoes?

While ketchup is often seen as the traditional pairing for fried potatoes, there are so many other options with a wide variety of flavors!

The seasonings used in this air fryer fingerling potatoes recipe blend with so many options, including ranch dressing, Thousand Island dressing, barbecue sauce, or honey mustard.

Garlic aioli or spicy mayonnaise are great options, too!
