If you can’t tell by looking around my site, I love my air fryer! It makes cooking so fun and simple, and don’t even get me started on how easy clean-up is! Did you know that you can also use it to reheat your favorite foods? Yup, this handy tool can do (almost) everything.

One dish that I’ve always struggled to reheat properly is chicken, and more specifically, rotisserie chicken. When it’s fresh out of the oven it’s perfectly juicy, tender, and flavorful. And yet every time I tried to reheat it in the microwave or back in the oven, it came out dry and a little…unappetizing.

The good news is, reheating rotisserie chicken in air fryer is super easy. And, in my opinion, it’s the best way to reheat rotisserie chicken.

Unless you’re feeding a family of 8 every night, when you make a whole chicken rotisserie style, you’re likely to have leftovers. Today, I’m going to show you how to reheat rotisserie chicken in air fryer!

Can I Reheat a Whole Rotisserie Chicken in Air Fryer?

You sure can! However, keep in mind that the reheating times may be longer compared to reheating individual pieces of rotisserie chicken.

When you reheat roast chicken in air fryer, I suggest keeping an eye on it — check to see if it’s done after about 4 minutes.

Ways to Use Air Fryer Rotisserie Chicken

Should I Preheat the Air Fryer First?

Just for a few minutes, and you won’t have to wait as long as you would for a standard oven to heat up.

Preheating helps ensure even cooking and prevents the chicken from drying out.

Can I Reheat Frozen Rotisserie Chicken in Air Fryer?

You bet. That said, just like reheating whole chicken, it may require slightly longer cooking times than thawed chicken.

Ideally you should let the bird thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating it for more even and efficient cooking.

How Do You Reheat Chicken in an Air Fryer Without it Drying Out?

The beauty of reheating rotisserie chicken in air fryer is that it won’t dry out like it will in the microwave — or take as long as the oven!

Thanks to the circulated hot air, the outside will crisp up perfectly and the inside will stay moist and juicy. You’ll also want to make sure to check in on the air fryer rotisserie chicken as it cooks as to not overcook it.

How Long to Reheat Roast Chicken in Air Fryer?

You won’t need longer than 5 minutes to reheat rotisserie chicken in air fryer! This is quick reheating at its finest.

However, the exact time to reheat roast chicken in air fryer will depend on the size of the chicken as well as your air fryer. Adjust the time accordingly depending on the thickness of the meat and how many pieces you are reheating.

Is the Best Way to Reheat Rotisserie Chicken in Air Fryer or Microwave?

I’m team air fryer! It’s the best way to reheat rotisserie chicken because it will crisp up the skin without drying out the interior.

I’ve found that when I’ve used my microwave in the past, the chicken comes out soggy and soft.

Plus, your chicken will be perfectly reheated in just about 5 minutes. Reheating rotisserie in air fryer is quick and easy, which is why it’s my preferred method.

    • Hi Steve, the reheat button is just a function that changes the air fryer to a certain time and temperature and doesn’t change the function. Either option is fine as long as you turn the temperature and time to what’s listed on the recipe card.
