My air fryer takes much of the heavy lifting and guesswork that can come with cooking out of the picture. It’s just one of the reasons why I love it so much!

Meals like air fryer chuck roast, air fryer falafel, and air fryer baby back ribs are just a few examples.

Dishes that would normally take hours to prep and cook come together in minutes when you use an air fryer. It’s the ultimate way to save time!

Another one of my favorite air fryer meals is air fryer frozen empanadas.

You can use your preferred brand (my go-to is Goya) or you can even use your own homemade version.

I like to enjoy several of these paired with Mexican rice, black beans, coleslaw, and corn for a fun dinner idea. You can also take a few to go for a quick and easy snack.

No matter what way you plan on enjoying yours, you’ll be happy to know that this recipe takes just 15 minutes from start to finish.

That means you’ll have more time to spend with loved ones instead of in your kitchen. Now, that’s a win for everyone!

STEP ONE: Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees F.

STEP THREE: Air fry for 10 minutes, then flip. Spray or apply an egg wash and air fry the other side for 4-6 minutes, or until your air fryer empanadas are crispy and golden brown on the outside and fully heated on the inside.

Let them cool slightly before digging in!

How Long To Fry Frozen Empanadas in the Air Fryer

As indicated in the instructions above and on the recipe card below, start with 10 minutes on one side, flip your air fryer empanadas, and 4-6 minutes on the other side.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re working with air fryer cheese empanadas or frozen chicken empanadas in the air fryer; all varieties should take about 15 minutes in total!

How To Make Goya Empanadas in the Air Fryer

As I mentioned above, I usually make Goya empanadas in the air fryer.

You can use whatever brand you like, but I find that Goya is the best bang for my buck — they’re inexpensive, but the quality is still there.

You can use my exact air-frying method to make yours at home. It won’t take longer than 15 minutes.

Is It Better To Bake Or Fry Empanadas?

It all depends on your preference, but I find that frozen air fryer empanadas have the crispy and golden brown exterior that you would get from traditionally frying them — without any of the excess oil or mess.

Air fryer frozen empanadas also take a lot less time than if you were to bake them.

How Do I Make Empanadas Crisp?

Make them in the air fryer! Again, no matter what type you want to make: air fryer cheese empanadas or frozen chicken empanadas in the air fryer, they will crisp up beautifully!
