Air Fryer Reheat Pizza

Here’s a huge tip on how to reheat pizza in the air fryer. Most people don’t preheat their air fryer when reheating leftover pizza causing the crust not to get crispy. I’ve personally tested these directions more than 100 times and this is the proven method that always works. Follow this super easy 3-step process to get the crispiest leftover pizza you’ve ever eaten.

Best Way to Reheat Pizza (Air Fryer Method)

The best way to reheat pizza? Using the air fryer to reheat pizza!

It gets crispy, hot, and perfectly cooked every time. You can also warm up multiple slices at a time.

I’ve reheated pizza in the oven and in a frying pan and the air fryer has always been the best way to reheat pizza.

The oven takes way too long and the frying pan takes much longer than the air fryer and doesn’t cook as many slices.

STEP ONE: Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees.

STEP TWO: Place cold pizza slices in the air fryer basket or oven-style air fryer and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, until the pizza crust is crispy and the cheese is melted and hot.

STEP THREE: Carefully remove the leftover pizza from the air fryer and enjoy!

Reheating Thick Crust Pizza in the Air Fryer

Thicker pizza crusts need an extra minute or two of more time to warm up and get a crispy crust and to heat through all the way.

Reheating Thin Crust Pizza in the Air Fryer

Reheating pizza in the air fryer with a thin crust does best with a quick high-heat approach in less time.

You can cook thin-crust pizza at up to 400 degrees, but it will cook in just 2 minutes.

Reheating Deep Dish Pizza in the Air Fryer

Deep-dish pizzas are thicker than a typical pizza slice.

Air fry leftover pizza in deep dish format at 330 degrees for about 6 minutes. This will make sure the cheese does not burn while heating up the inside.

Tips for Reheating Pizza in Air Fryer

  • Air fry leftover pizza slices in a single layer to allow for even cooking
  • Preheat the air fryer to get a nice quick reheat for the crispiest pizza
  • If you notice the air fryer pizza starting to brown, especially near the crust, turn the heat down 25 to 30 degrees
  • Each piece of pizza can reheat differently depending on size and thickness — A Domino’s pizza slice and a Pizza Hut pizza slice may be different in size, etc.
  • Use parchment paper or a silicone liner for easy clean up
  • Use the Dual Blaze Cosori Air Fryer for a crispier crust — it has a burner on the top and on the bottom

  1. That’s an interesting idea to use an air fryer to reheat leftover pizza. I like pizza, but I never like eating it after it’s been microwaved. Hopefully using an air fryer could help solve that issue and make my leftover pizza more enjoyable, so I’ll have to think about trying that next time I have some.

    • Hi Arty, reheating pizza in an oven will take much longer, especially when waiting for the oven to preheat so long. Have you tried reheating pizza in an air fryer yet? I definitely recommend it. It comes out just like it was on day one. If you don’t prefer “crispy” pizza (we’re not talking potato chips crispy, but not soggy microwave pizza), you can turn the temperature down a bit too.

  2. We followed you instructions for our first air fryer experience. Pizza reheated just right and my wife is happy with the air fryer.

    • So glad to hear your first try turned out perfect, Larry! I still am amazed at how well it reheats leftover pizza!

    • “and my wife is happy with the air fryer.”
I get you,Larry! I’ve been justifying my air fryer, too!!!
I first got my wife on-board with ‘Pork Katsu’, from the Cosori fryer’s website.
A few more successes & she was sold!!!

  3. We are preparing to try our new 7qt Power Xl for the first time. We want to reheat frozen deep dish pizza. Should we thaw it out first or can we reheat It frozen using the pizza preset button? Thanks

    • Hi John, I usually do a personal deep dish frozen pizza preheated at 350 for about 6-8 minutes. There’s no need to thaw it and the pizza will cook directly from frozen.

  4. This works great. Also, you don’t have to use “day old’ pizza–you can freeze your pizza leftovers and have them when the urge strikes! Just pop it right in your air fryer–you don’t even need to preheat it!

    • Nope! I reheat all kinds of pizza in there too! If the toppings make it really thick, you might need to add an extra minute or so, but that’s really it.

    • Never mind… just give it a couple extra minutes, depending on how much & how many toppings & how much moisture.
Mine was better than the first time!!!

  5. My air fryer has shelves, not a basket, and I cannot get my pizza crust to crisp. I’ve tried putting the shelf towards the top of the fryer oven and at the bottom, tried high cooking temps and lower ones, and nothing works. Any suggestions? All I end up with is dark browned cheese on top and a flabby crust.

    • Hmmm.. that’s a tough one with all the changes you’ve made. Have you tried to do a lower temperature for longer? Also, is it a flat shelf (like a baking sheet) or a wired shelf? A flat shelf won’t allow any air circulation so the bottom will never crisp up.

  6. Thank you for your directions! I used them with my Pizza Hut super supreme pan pizza and it worked like a charm. Crispy pizza, even better than when the delivery driver brought it. Yum!!

  7. Hi Samantha,
Thank you for this ‘recipe’ on reheating pizza in an air fryer. I’m fairly new to using an AF, so these directions really help! Excellent results, and no comparison to reheating in a microwave. Keep up the good work!
