Crock Pot Pork Tenderloin

My pork tenderloin in the crock pot comes out perfectly tender and juicy every time! I cover the pork with a sweet and savory homemade sauce mixture, then leave the slow cooker to do the rest of the work.

My Favorite Way to Make Crock Pot Pork Tenderloin

When I have guests coming over, I’ll often make pork tenderloin in the crock pot! This recipe’s blend of sweet, salty, savory, and smoky flavors means that there’s something for everyone’s taste.

My husband, Ben, is pretty adventurous when it comes to all of these flavors. He even said that if he was a guest, he’d secretly hope to have at least two servings of this tender crock pot pork!

I’ve made pork tenderloin in the oven and air fryer too, and while all of these methods end up with delicious results, low and slow cooking gives the meat such a beautiful tenderness.

And of course, there’s nothing better than being able to step back and let the crock pot work its magic. While the tenderloins cook, I can do other things like prepare my favorite side dishes to go with them!

Ingredients for pork tenderloin in the crock pot: tenderloins, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, brown sugar, and soy sauce.

Slow Cooker Pork Tenderloin Ingredients

  • Pork tenderloins – I use 2 tenderloins that are about 1 to 1½ pounds each. Tenderloins are a lean cut of pork, but they are not the same as pork loins.
  • Chicken broth – I prefer using low-sodium broth since the added salt and soy sauce will add plenty of saltiness already!
  • Italian seasoning – This blend of herbs brings an earthy and slightly peppery flavor to the recipe. I use store-bought seasoning to keep it simple.
  • Onion powder – To add a subtle sweetness that complements the savory notes in the sauce.
  • Garlic powder – Brings earthy, garlicky flavor to the sauce mixture.
  • Smoked paprika – Adds a deep smoky flavor to the recipe.
  • Salt and pepper – Enhance the overall taste of the pork and sauce.
  • Brown sugar – This adds the perfect amount of sweetness. I use light brown sugar, but dark brown sugar works well too.
  • Soy sauce – I recommend using low-sodium soy sauce since other ingredients in the recipe already have plenty of salt.

Tips for the Best Recipe for Pork Tenderloin in the Crock Pot

  • I place a slow cooker liner in the crock pot before adding the ingredients. This makes the cleanup process so simple!
  • Don’t lift the lid during cooking. Every time the lid comes off, the heat escapes, which adds an extra 15 to 20 minutes to the cooking time.
  • I use a digital meat thermometer to check that the pork has reached an internal temperature of 145 degrees F. It’s easy to use and there’s no guessing involved!
  • I let the pork rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing so that the juices can redistribute. This is my best tip for perfectly juicy pork every time!

Crock Pot Pork Tenderloin Variations and Substitutions

  • To increase the sweetness, I use 2 tablespoons of brown sugar instead of just 1!
  • For a spicier flavor, I add ¼ teaspoon of red pepper flakes, 1 teaspoon of chili powder, or 1 to 2 teaspoons of hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
  • I sometimes use pork shoulder instead of tenderloin. It takes longer to cook, but it’s just as delicious!
  • When I want to make the recipe heartier, I add veggies! Thicker ingredients like carrots and potatoes can be added at the beginning, but I wait until the last 1 or 2 hours to add quicker-cooking items like bell peppers.

What to Serve with Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

I love serving pork tenderloin with simple sides like rice or mashed potatoes, or with hearty dishes like my creamy Tuscan white bean soup!

Other dishes like my baked acorn squash or baked asparagus also pair well with this recipe, and they are easy to pop in the oven while the slow cooker does its work on the other side of the kitchen!

Pork Tenderloin in the Crock Pot FAQs

Should I trim the pork before putting it in the crock pot?

I like to trim off the silvery-white skin on the outside of pork tenderloins before placing them in the crockpot. Since pork tenderloin is pretty lean in general, I find that there is often not any excess fat that I need to remove before cooking.

How long does it take to cook pork tenderloin in a crock pot?

I cook my pork tenderloin in the slow cooker on Low for 4 to 5 hours, or on High for 2½ to 3½ hours.

How should I store leftover slow cooker pork tenderloin?

I let my pork cool fully, then transfer it to an airtight container. Leftover pork tenderloin will last for 3 to 4 days in the refrigerator. If I want to keep it for longer, I’ll freeze it for up to 2 months in an airtight container or freezer-safe bag to avoid ice crystals.

How should I reheat leftover crock pot pork tenderloin?

My favorite way to reheat pork tenderloin is on the stovetop with a splash of broth. I cover the tenderloins and let them cook for 2 to 3 minutes until warmed through. The oven also works well! I wrap the meat and a splash of broth in foil, then heat for 10 to 15 minutes at 325 degrees F. If I’m short on time, I’ll cover a few pork slices with a damp paper towel and microwave in 30-second intervals so that they warm up without drying out.
