Easy Tater Tot Casserole with Green Beans

Samantha Erb
My tater tot casserole with green beans is made with frozen tater tots and frozen green beans for an easy dinner filled with savory flavor! I also use cream of mushroom for added flavor and ease.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup onion diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 10.75 ounces condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 cups frozen green beans
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 16 ounces frozen tater tots

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a 2 ½-quart baking dish with cooking spray and set it aside.
  • In a large skillet set over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef and onion together. Drain any excess fat.
  • Season the beef with garlic powder, parsley, salt, and pepper, then stir in the Worcestershire sauce. Stir in the soup and sour cream until it's well combined, then remove the skillet from the heat.
  • Transfer the mixture to the baking dish, spreading it into an even layer. Layer on the green beans, season with salt and pepper to taste, then sprinkle on 1 cup of the cheese.
  • Spread the tater tots evenly over the top, then sprinkle on the remaining cheese.
  • Bake the casserole for 35-45 minutes, until the tater tots are golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Notes

  • If the shredded cheese on top is starting to burn, cover the casserole with tin foil until the last 5 minutes of the bake.
  • Letting the casserole rest a few minutes makes it easier to scoop and helps everything set.
  • Store leftovers covered tightly with plastic wrap in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven at 350 degrees F until warmed, covered until the last few minutes of cooking.
