Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Nuggets

My air fryer chicken nuggets are made with real chicken, a quick butter dip, and seasoned breadcrumbs. They come out crispy and they're an easy win for dinner or snacking.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounce chicken breast
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¾ cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ cup melted butter

Instructions

  • Trim any visible fat off the chicken breast. Cut it into half-inch strips, then cut those into nugget-size chunks (halve the smaller strips, cut the bigger ones into thirds).
  • Season the chicken with salt and pepper, then let it come to room temperature so the butter doesn't solidify when you dip it.
  • Combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning in a bowl and set aside.
  • Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Dip each piece of chicken in the butter first, then in the breadcrumbs.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 390 degrees F. Place the nuggets in the basket, no spray needed since they're coated in butter.
  • Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway through. Check them in the last few minutes since timing varies by air fryer.

Notes

To reheat, preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees F and cook the leftover nuggets for 3 to 5 minutes, until warm and crispy.
