Sugar Cookies without Baking Soda


– All-purpose flour – Baking powder – Kosher salt – Unsalted butter, softened – Granulated sugar – Large eggs – Vanilla extract – Holiday nonpareil sprinkles (optional)

Add the eggs and vanilla extract. Keep the speed on low and slowly add in the flour and mix.

Step 1

Place the dough in the refrigerator to chill for at least an hour. Scoop out enough dough to make 1 inch balls and roll in sugar before placing on the baking sheets.

Use a drinking glass or other flat object, flatten each ball into  ⅓ to ½ inch thick discs.

Step 3

Bake cookies for 9-11 minutes. You want the centers to be just set and the edges to be slightly golden!
