- 1 box Funfetti Cake mix
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened
- 8 ounces Cool Whip
- 1/2 cup milk
- additional sprinkles
In a mixing bowl, place the cake mix, cream cheese, and Cool Whip.
Begin mixing it with a hand or stand mixer on medium speed, slowly adding the milk until it is all combined.
Transfer it to a serving bowl and top with sprinkles.
- Heat treating the raw flour will help prevent any possible bacteria contamination. This can be done by placing the cake mix in a microwave safe bowl, then heating in 30 second intervals, stirring in between until it reaches 165 degrees F.
- Using an electric mixer is the best way to get a smooth, creamy dip without lumps.
- Wait until right before serving to add the sprinkle topping. This will prevent the colors from bleeding onto the rest of the dip.
- If the dip is refrigerated and sits for more than a day, the sprinkle colors will begin to bleed. Allow it to sit at room temperature for at least 15 minutes to soften again. Stir, then add additional sprinkles.
- Choose sprinkles that have unique shapes! Rainbow sprinkles come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, so using different ones will add some fun to the recipe.
- Store leftovers covered tightly in the fridge for up to 4 days.
