Ingredients

  • (2) 8 oz New York strip steaks 1-inch thick
  • 1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoons black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F.
  • Rub the steak with oil on both sides, and season it evenly with the salt, garlic powder, and pepper.
  • Place them in an air fryer basket or tray in a single layer and air fry them for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time for medium rare.
Add 2 minutes for medium, 4 minutes for medium-well, or 6 minutes for well-done.

Notes

  • Allow the steaks to come to room temperature to help them cook more evenly. 30 minutes is usually enough time.
  • Pat the steaks dry to help them brown better. It helps get a crispier crust.
  • For the best flavor, season them generously with salt, garlic powder, and pepper.
  • Always preheat your air fryer before adding the steaks to help get that steakhouse-style sear on the outside.
  • Let the steaks rest for at least 5 minutes so they can reabsorb their juices.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat leftovers in a preheated air fryer at 350 degrees F for 3 to 4 minutes.
