Caprese Salad with Balsamic

Enjoy a burst of Italian flavor with this easy-to-make tomato caprese salad, a perfect blend of juicy tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, fresh basil, and a rich balsamic glaze.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh mozzarella
  • 4 ripe tomatoes
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze

Instructions

  • If the mozzarella does not come pre-sliced, slice the mozzarella.
  • Slice the tomatoes in ¼ inch slices as evenly as possible.
  • Clip and was the fresh basil only ripping the largest leaves.
  • Layer the mozzarella and tomatoes on a plate.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper per taste.
  • When the salad is ready to be served, drizzle the balsamic glaze over the salad.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • I used Brandywine tomatoes, but you can use whatever tomatoes are fresh and in season.
