- 6 pound Prime Rib
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ cup minced garlic about 10 cloves
- One sprig fresh rosemary chopped (or 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary)
- One sprig fresh thyme chopped (or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme)
Preheat your air fryer to 390 degrees.
Rub the prime rib with olive oil generously, then sprinkle it with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
Cover the prime rib with crushed garlic then the rosemary and thyme. I
recommend using fresh rosemary and thyme for the best flavoring, but you
can use dried as well.
Gently place the prime rib in the air fryer and cook for 20 minutes.
Leaving the prime rib steak in the air fryer, turn the temperature down
to 315 degrees and continue to cook for about 55 additional minutes until Instant-Read Thermometer reaches desired doneness -- 130 degrees for medium-rare.*
Let the prime rib sit for 20 to 30 minutes, then slice and enjoy!
*if your thermometer is still reading too low, let prime rib cook in the air fryer for another 5 to 10 minutes, then check the temperature again
How to Reheat Prime Rib in the Air Fryer:
To Reheat Full Prime Prime Rib:
- Preheat your air fryer to 270 degrees.
- Lay the prime rib in the air fryer and cook for about 10 to 15 minutes until warmed.
To Reheat Pre-Cooked Prime Rib Slices:
- Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees.
- Place the prime rib slices in the air fryer in a single layer and cook for
about 2 minutes. Use a parchment paper or silicone liner if the prime
rib is sauced.
