Ingredients

  • 16 ounces salted peanuts
  • 16 ounces unsalted peanuts
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 11.5 ounces milk chocolate chips
  • 10 ounces peanut butter chips optional
  • 2 - 16 ounces packages vanilla candy coating

Instructions

  • Begin by placing all of the peanuts on the bottom of the crockpot in an even layer.
  • Then, add both the semi and the milk chocolate chips, making another even layer.
  • On top of this layer, add a bag of peanut butter chips.
  • Finally, top everything with the vanilla candy coating.
  • Turn your crockpot on low and cook for one hour.
  • After one hour of cooking, stir the mixture thoroughly. Cover and continue cooking the mixture for about one and a half hours, stirring every 20-30 minutes at first and then every 15 minutes as it gets closer to being done.
  • Once the chocolate has been completely melted and mixed together with the peanuts, using a one-inch cookie scoop, scoop out the chocolate mixture onto wax paper. Create rows and columns until the crock pot is empty.
  • Allow the Christmas crack to sit for about 2 hours or until they are completely cooled and have hardened.
  • Remove from the wax paper and serve or store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • You can leave the clusters plain or add festive sprinkles, finely crushed candy cane, sea salt, mini candies, or finely chopped peanuts.
  • I liked having half salted and half plain peanuts. However, you can do all salted or all plain.
