In a large pot, melt the butter completely over medium heat. Once the butter is finished melting, add the marshmallows and mix continuously until all of the marshmallows have melted.
Whisk in the peanut butter and salt until the peanut butter is homogenous with the melted marshmallows.
Add the cereal to the pot and use a large wooden spoon or silicone spatula to fold the ingredients together until the cereal is evenly coated in the marshmallow mixture.
Coat a 9x13 inch glass pan in butter or nonstick cooking spray. Spread the cereal mixture into the pan evenly and set aside.
Melt the chocolate for about 1 minute, or until smooth. Transfer the chocolate to a Ziploc bag, cut off one of the corners, and drizzle the chocolate over the cereal mixture.
Place the rice krispie treats in the fridge to cool for 1 hour before slicing.
