EVERYDAY FAMILY COOKING

– Butter – Light brown sugar – Granulated sugar – Large egg – Pure vanilla extract – All purpose flour – Ground cinnamon – Baking powder – Cream of tartar – Baking soda – Kosher salt – Ground nutmeg

Melt butter over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Remove pan from heat. Pour into a heatproof bowl.

Add the brown sugar and sugar to the brown butter and whisk. Add the egg and vanilla extract.

In a bowl, whisk the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and just until incorporated. Cover and chill for 1 hour.

Scoop out cookie dough and roll them into balls. Roll each ball in the cinnamon sugar mixture.

Place on the baking sheet. Press the dough balls down into a ⅓” tall disc. Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes.

Allow to cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
