How Long to Roast Tomatoes in the Air Fryer

The goal is to achieve the perfect balance of tenderness and a slight char on the tomatoes. Keep in mind that the cooking time may vary slightly based on the size and variety of the tomatoes, as well as your air fryer model.

In general, roasting cherry tomatoes in the air fryer takes about 4-5 minutes. Keep an eye on them as they cook — you’ll know they’re ready when the skins start to split and the tomatoes become tender.

Tips for Making the Best Air Fryer Roasted Tomatoes

  • I like to use vine cherry tomatoes, but loose cherry tomatoes, grape tomatoes, or any small red tomatoes will work well.
  • Leave the cherry tomatoes whole. We want the skins to air fry while the insides stay wonderfully tender.
  • For added flavor, you could try sprinkling grated Parmesan cheese over the tomatoes as soon as they finish roasting.
  • Ensure the tomatoes are coated evenly with olive oil and herbs for maximum flavor infusion.
  • Season with salt and pepper to enhance the taste of the tomatoes. It seems simple, but it makes a huge difference!
  • For a variety of flavors, experiment with different herb combinations like thyme, oregano, or marjoram.
